I have completed the Ayruvedic Health Counselor program at Kanyakumari School of Ayurveda in Milwaukee, WI. My journey into Ayurveda began after many years of suffering from a chronic condition that ultimately required major surgery. This took such a toll on my body I decided it was time to take charge of my health and do all I could to avoid illness in the next phase of my life.
I began many lifestyle and dietary changes that have helped me tremendously. This led to a desire to try and find a way to help others. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to train with the wonderful instructors at Kanyakumari. I hope to share this wisdom with all who seek a natural way to health and harmony. My Ayurveda practice is based in Racine, WI.
A comprehensive health system that was developed over 5,000 years ago in India that identifies that each individual has a unique constitution.
A system that explains that the digestive, metabolic, immune and healing systems are within the patient and therefore the patient is the healer.
As an Ayurveda representative, we help you to identify your constitution and present ways to guide your body to healing what ails you and helping you structure a life free from suffering.
This one addition to my morning routine has changed my life- Carla
Your recommendation for my dry eyes has worked so well I no longer have to use eye drops- Sheryl
My personal experience encompasses many major health improvements with a few minor changes.
The first has been the alleviation of chronic dry skin by elminating coffee and tea. Within the first week there was significant improvement and by the second month I no longer have dry skin at all! This has been an issue for me since childhood, slathering lotion on everyday at least one time. This simple change has not only relieved the symptom but also allowed me to eliminate all the chemicals that are in most skin care products from my life.
The second and very impactful positive change has been taking my body from a very acidic state to nuetral in less than a year. When I first tested my saliva I was at a 5 on the ph scale, this is very unhealthy state. It places undue stress on our liver, kidneys, the digestive system and our lungs. In addition to their normal functions these systems will work overtime in an attempt to return the body to a nuetral state. Acid can also deposit itself into our muscles, joints and connective tissues increasing pain and inflammation. I was fortunate to not experience any symptoms but I am certain there were still negative effects on my body. Some of the changes I made include reducing meat consumption, increasing dark leafy greens in my diet, drinking only high quality water and reducing my refined carbohydrate consumption. Now, this may seem like a lot but I made one small change each week and overall it adds up to a major improvement. I feel better, my skin looks healthier, and it has been fun to expand my palate and cooking experience by trying new foods and recipes. My ph level is now at a 7 and I am continuing to work on getting it up to an 8.
